Can anyone tell me how to make a solid black silhouette from an outlined figure without the jaggies? In other words, outline a figure, make it solid black with a solid white background, and with a smooth, hard edge?[img][/img]

well, the way I would do it is to use

Step 1: Quick Mask and get rid of the background

Step 2: copy the person and paste to a new layer

Step 3: Delete the background so that it is the color you want.

Step 4: go to the layer with the person on it and go to IMAGE/ADJUST/THRESHOLD and that should give you your black silhouette

Step 5: use the eraser to smooth edges .... to your own taste

Or, once you've got rid of the background:

- select the blank area with the magic wand (non-contigious)

- then invert the selection to give you the figure

- create a new layer

- paint black into that area

Not sure which will produce the best result? What do you think moondog?
