alright, Here it is, I made this a week or so ago because I was bored, and I quite like it, but I want to know if I could make it better.

and one more thing, I think some explosion of light in the center of the swirls would be cool, but I don't know how to do it. Do you think this would look cool and if so how do you do it?

Hmm, I'm not really sure how you'd get the "light burst" thing. Spotlight maybe?

As far as adding more pizazz you could maybe get some fractal brushes and use them on a nearly-transparent layer above to add more depth and texture.

I like it though, reminds me of glowsticks. What program did you use to make it in the first place? If photoshop- TELL ME HOW.

Alrighty, I'll try that out. but for how i did it all i did was:

1.Get a pen tool, and set it to "paths"
2. play around with it until you get a cool shape
3. go to the layers part and click the paths tab
4. right click on the path you made and click Stroke path
5. on there use brush (i just use a basic 5px brush and make sure it's white) and make sure the "simulate pen pressure" box is checked
6. repeat that on the same layer for all the ones you're gonna want to make the same color.
7. the way I got the color on them is to just go to filter>artistic>neon glow and mess around with that.
8. duplicate the layer and move it a bit if you want the whole two-strand thing I have going on there, just change the color with Hue/Saturation tool.

That should get you through it.

OH, DUH!

I'm silly, I should have known that... one of my friends was making a neon-sign for his website banner the other day using that same technique...

*Smacks head*

Thanks though, that's a really detailed step-by-step, haha.

What I'd suggest, is get some colour unity in there. Try applying a gradient over the top of it all, choosing a couple well working colours, and setting the mode to colour. Try also, taking your flattened image, duplicating it, giving it a generous glausian blur, and setting the mode to screen. That, and "lens flares" are pretty cool, by like distorting them with ripple. One last idea, your background is all black. Why not make a gradient background, y'know like a dark red or something, to give it more depth.

Really Cool though, I never have the patience to use the pen tool that much, so bravo.

P.S: I know I said I was done with ideas, but when you're all finished, try "lighting effects", you never know.

LOL, now I'm done with the ideas. If you make changes, I'd love to see them, it looks great thusfar.

Y'know, I tried what I had mentioned, sorry, but I'm just really impatient, and wanted to know if my advice actually worked. If you like, I'll post the image, but just in case, I'll wait for your permission.

Still can't get over your dedication to the pen tool. Such good penmanship.
