Hello (newbie here Blush )

I just installed Photoshop CS4 and all is going well, however I can not seem to upload my brushes that I have placed the the proper folder; My_Computer/C:/Program_Files/Adobe/Adobe_Photoshop_CS4/Presets/Brushes.
The brushes I am trying to upload are brushes that I have used in previous Photoshop versions, so maybe the are not compatible? Though I really doubt that, anyhow what is even more weird is that I can view all the brushes that I want to upload right at the bottom of the drop-down menu just below "Replace Brushes". So when I go and try to "Load Brushes" the window opens and there is no brushes there, although there are there when I browse the folder for them manually. However I can Just click on a brush file in the drop-down menu I mentioned earlier, and just get those brushes, but then if i want to use other brushes that I was previously using I have to "reset brushes" and I know that Photoshop is not supposed to that strange. Any help would be much appreciated.
