I was wondering if anyone knows how to separate layer style effect (outerglow, drop shadow etc..) from the layer it was created on to a new layer. I saw this in a tutorial, but it only works 1 out of 10 times for me. Has anyone seen, or done this before? Here's a link to the tutorial I saw it in.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks. |

Thanks! Works perfectly. Just our of curiosity is anyone familar with the way it was done in the tutorial. It has something to do with linking 2 layers and merging them together to get it to create a new layer with just the layer styles. |

I didn't even read the tut :p
I'll take a look at it later on. If you merge two layers and the bottom most layer has styles, then it will add the styles to both layers when it combines it into one, but you'd still have to bring the fill down to zero. (If you ever want to flatten a layer style, merge the styled layer to a blank layer.) _________________ Best Regards,
