I've been using photoshop for a about a year now for a lot of smaller things, but this is my first real attempt at something creative...

Any suggestions would be really appreciated, especially if you have suggestions for the stars (I can't seem to find a good tutorial) I followed Greg Martin's very well written tutorial http://gallery.artofgregmartin.com/tuts_arts/making_a_planet.html to the letter. You can see some of my other planets (that I didn't use the tutrial to make) at: http://weekendbiggs.deviantart.com/ Thanks in advance for your feedback!

I've never seen a planet tutorial that called for emboss..and then doesn't call for spherize...Don't get me wrong...I think your planets look cool....but that intense glow from the embossing bothers me. It's just too intense and is not very realistic. But that's just my taste...
As for your stars field...yeah that could use some work....
Here's my favorite tutorial for stars...

Good luck with it! And I'd like to see some more of your work!

Thanks for the response! I did spherize the texture, do you mean on a different layer? And I appreciate your mentioning the emboss, I was wondering if it was a little overbearing. That tutorial was exactly what i was looking for, thanks for all your help, and you can see a couple more things that I've done at http://weekendbiggs.deviantart.com/

You've got some pretty cool stuff there!
This was my very first attempt at a planet. No I didn't follow a tutorial. I wanted to see how I'd do without using one. It's ok....but needed more texture.
