Any tip on how to create an Action to perform the following task:

- Have two files open
- Select first file
- SHIFT-DRAG the PATH from file to the second file that is open

I can do this manually, but cant figure out the action. It doesn't RECORD the dragging part.

I'm really stuck...any help?

Hi SandmAn,
If the documents are of the same size, you can record copy-n-pasting instead of dragging.

THANKS! Worked like a charm!

Now that i have that working, I wanted to know if there was a way to efficiently be able to create an action that can open two files with the same name in two different locations open them up and run the path action? Instead of looking for the two files and opening them and once open apply the PATH action.

Thanks for yr response!

Yes, you can record opening files e.g., "file1.jpg" from "Folder A" and "file1.jpg" from "Folder B".
However, this action won't open files named "file2.jpg". (You may need to write a script for this.)

Correct, opening files I know i can record an action for this. However, i believe a script is needed to perform the particular task i need. Would that be written something like Apple Script or Automator, or something else intrigrated with PS?

Apple Script will do. Look in "Scripting Guide" folder in your Photoshop directory.
