I have a bunch of photos I want to watermark for my website.
I know how to build Actions. Made one to resize all the pics to the same width. Then I built an action to create a visible watermark.
The problem is when I use the watermark action in Batch mode, the Emboss command within the action causes it to stop and display the following dialog "This type layer must be rasterized before procedding. Its ext will no longer be editiable. Rasterize the type?"
How do I get the batch operation to suppress the prompt or hit OK and go on?
I did try mouse clicks , and numeric pad "Enter" key to see if that made a difference in recording the action . It didn't.
I'm running CS2 on Win XP - w all the latest updates.

Hi Roger,
How about adding a step to the action that rasterizes the type layer before you add the filter?

Thanks - that got around the problem fine!
But still is there anyway to suppress such prompts ?

Thanks Roger, I'm glad you like it!
If you use the Batch command you can suppress certain warnings (like colour profile warnings) but there's no option to suppress any other warnings I'm afraid!

How would one scale the watermark to a percentage of the width of the picture?
All my pictures are scaled to a particular height but the width varies.
Also is there any way to get batch commands to recreate the subfolder structure of the source files? I dont want the output going into one big folder.

When creating the step that adds the watermark to the image make sure you are working with percent set as your measurement, and not pixels or centimeters. This will make the watermark fit to a percentage of the image and not a restricted amount of pixels.
I know what you're getting at with the subfolders question, but sadly you don't have that level of control with actions.

Not trying to be thick, but say I enter my watermark as 36 pt type. Select the layer with the Move Tool. Setting the size to 80% width gives me about 30 pt type, NOT 80% of the photo's width.
What am I missing here?

Ok, working with points is OK but you'll need an action step before you add the text that sets the width of the image to a certain measurement (making sure that resample image option is switched off). This will allow the point size of the text to match the resolution of the image).You then need to add your text to fit the image on screen and things should work out great!

The problem is my pics are all 600 pixels tall but the width varies. |

You can click the email link at the bottom of my posts and send me the action you're having trouble with. Generally, you're going to need to set the document size inside the action to reflect a certain size (can be in height or width). This is important because you're adding text in points, which are resolution dependant.
