I haven't yet found out how to do a few things, so I wonder if you guys could help.
(1) How do you merge 2 image layers?

(2) Can you change the crop feature from a quadrilateral to a circle or oval shape? I want to crop a circle logo.

(3) I noticed people don't use the default fonts for text, how do you do such awesome font styles?

Thanks, Perry.

Hey Perry,

Here's my thoughts!

1) You need to select the layers you want merged, so click the first one to select it, and then CTRL click the other layer to add it to the selected layers. Now go to Layer > Merge Layers.

2) The nearest you'll get is to use the circular marquee tool to create a selection and then go to Image > Crop. Now inverse the selection (Select > Inverse) and erase all pixels that fall outside of the circle/oval using the eraser tool. Photoshop only supports quadrilateral image sizes, so the workaround is to use transparent pixels outside of the circle/oval.

3) Go to a font site on the internet and browse their available FREE fonts, I stress free because there's plenty of good free sites on the web. I use http://www.1001fonts.com/ amongst others. Once you've found the font of your choice, download it and install it on your computer. You can do this on Windowns by going to the control panel, selecting fonts, and then going to File > Install New Fonts. Close Photoshop and reload, you're font should appear in the font drop down menu.

Hope this helps
