I'm trying to create a white ring that will move on top of a grey ring (for a video).
However, even though I used the fixed aspect ratio, & copied the grey ring to make the white ring, with both in the same position; whenever I rotate the top (white) ring, it doesn't line up with the grey ring underneath at certain points, it seems to be not a perfect circle.
So when I add the two images into a video editor & rotate the white ring, it doesn't line up with the grey ring below.
I'm sure they are both centred properly.
What could be causing this? Maybe dpi could affect it? |

I need more information. Could you attach a file.
Is the white on one layer and the grey an another?
They are exact copies using layer copy?
Are you only rotating the white ring?
Do you just want the grey to be the drop shadow?
need more info.

Yes, first I created the grey layer, & duplicated the layer. Then changed it to white, so that I have one grey layer, & one white layer. Then when I rotate the white layer on top, some grey areas on the outline of the white ring show.
This is also the same if I add the images into sony vegas 7 & rotate them as a track motion. I just want the grey ring to stay where it is a a background, the white ring is supposed to rotate on the spot, lined up with the grey ring. Both have a black background.
The PSD is set at 600 dpi & is really high resolution.
I'll try to get the PSD file uploaded within a few days, it's on the other PC at another house. |

Is the white layer set at 100% opacity?
If you zoom in very close, do you still have this problem of an outline? (sometimes what you see if not what you get - printed)
When you created the lines to start with, did you have an outline and fill or just a fill?
If things are not lining up..perhaps it is because now the whole pages size is measured from edge of image to edge of image, instead of a set (the same) page size. Is the grey shape a different page size than the white shape when you import it into your sony software? _________________ It is the medium that is the message |
