I don't use Photoshop often, and whenever I do I seem to forget everything I've learned about it the last time I played with it.
So here's the problem... no matter what image I open up it is waaaaay darker than it should be. Including the sample images that come with Photoshop. It wasn't this way the last time I used Photoshop unless I changed a setting somewhere last time and forgot about it. When I save an image for the web it's fine... I put it in Frontpage 2000 and it looks normal. It's only in the editing window in Photoshop that the image appears darkened. Not in thumbnail pictures, the pictures in the "save for web" windows, or anywhere I export the image to.
I'm not it Quick Mask mode or Channels mode. I've erased the PhotoShop settings by pushing ctrl-alt-shift when the program loads. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program. It STILL darkens my images. I've done further testing and found I can copy an image into another program and it looks fine, but when pasting it back into photoshop it remains darkened.
There is a setting somewhere that's messing everything up, but after reinstalling the program I don't know what could be going on. I can't imagine what created the problem in the first place, I don't remember doing anything the last time I used it that would have changed anything.
Any idea what's messed up? I'm using Photoshop 6.0. |
