Hi,

I am a newbie to this forum, so apologies if this is a wrong post....

I am making some rollover images. The first (up state) is text on a transparent background, the second (over/down states) is the same text on a coloured background with a little icon on the right of the text.

The problem is - how do I get the text to the exact same position on both backgrounds?

I have enabled the grid and rulers but when I copy and paste the text it appears at another part of the new image and I have then to align by nudging, this is obvious when viewing the rollover in a browser as they are out of sync.

Each image is 164 long by 30 high and displayed vertically with the text at the right hand side of the image.

sorry for the longwinded question ......

Thanks in anticipation.........

Use shift to constrain items to to centre of the canvas whilst moving or dragging.

Welcome to the forum btw - reply back if it worked or not.

Or you can duplicate the text with left clicking on the text layer and dragging it down to the "make new layer". It looks like a blank page at the bottom of the layer palate. That will aling the text perfectly.
