Im a bit of a n00b so I have a few questions to ask. How do you get a render to make this kind of cartoony effect? Looks nice and smooth.
How do you put a picture in a custom shape like this?
And also use a gradient like the one in Slim Music?

I don't think it's really one technique, it's many hours of micro dodging and burning, selective sharpening, smoothing the skin, saturating the colour, levels, curves.. more than anything, it's knowing what order to do these things in.
The silky smooth skin can be done using the "Dior skin" technique (I looked for the link and I can't find it anymore).
Also read up about L-A-B colour saturation, and Local Contrast Enhancement.

playng about with the levels is the easiest way of making an image appear brushed, but you really get out the ole paint brush and dode tools _________________ www.youcast.tv |
