This kind of imagery would have been created in a 3D package, not photoshop. I'm sure some talented person could achieve this in PS but it would be very time consumer and not worth the effort.

It's not my field to be honest so I couldn't help you on that one, just google 3D software and see what comes up

Although I have been out of the 3D program world for some time, I would recommend 3D Studio MAXX for model creation, Bryce 5 for simple 3D things, and Vue d'Esprit, WorldBuilder, or Lightwave for outdoor scenes.

A quick google search will give you more information about each.

the textures are photoshop but everything else is 3d. it could be a number of programs. if you really want to get into 3d either go for 3ds maxx, or maya. i use maya and its the industry standard for animation etc. but if you want somthing just to mess around with...i would go for carrerra or bryce...(im not sure if the spelling is accurate. but yeah. if your a student you can get a discount from journyed.com i think thats the site. and you get a huge break!

i did this with maya
