Yellow Tint in PSE--Gamma?

If I use the browse function to open an image, the images appear normal colors until I highlight them. From that point on, that thumbnail will look yellow tinted, and come up on the work surface with the same yellow tint. A saved image (with yellow tint) will appear normally tinted when opened with Internet Explorer. Does this have to do with the Gamma correction program or is there some other explanation?
