I want to achieve the same effect as seen at http://www.earlenegrey.com/
in having an overlaid look of the font over the two different colors in the layout.
Would anyone be able to direct me to a tutorial to show me how to do this?

White text on top set to a very low opacity. Since the opacity is so low the top and bottom of the white text takes on a lighter shade of the color below it.
