I am using PS CS2 an Dell Dimension 9150. 2 Gig of Ram and a Nvidia Gforce 7800. I am having some strange thingws happen when I have several imags open.

If I open one image or possibly two, everythign seems fine. However, if I have several images open--maybe four or five--everytime I issue a command it seems as if teh program looks at or does something to every image that is open. I can see the title area of each window flicker in succession.

Has anybody ever seen anything like this? It is not happening in CS1.

Thanks,
David

That is perfectly normal, I don't know if you have experienced it any different Creative Suite 1 but it is to be expected. When opening multiple images in photoshop it puts a relatively large strain on the CPU and RAM. The format in which photoshop opens pictures is relativly large, therefore if you are not experience due to this try restarting the application and then your computer.

So why does it happen only in CS2 and not in CS1? I have both loaded in my system and I can load the same images in each and it does not occur in CS1, but does in CS2? Is CS2 handling memory differently?

And, yes, CS2 runs slower than CS1. Things take longer. Same system. Differnent results.

Any clues?

Thanks,
David

Try this:
Edit / Preferences /General / Uncheck "Auto update open documents"..restart Photoshop.

Just a guess.
