I go into masking mode.mask a circle [for example purposes] then revert back to standard mode. I want to edit WITHIN the circle that i just masked,but Photoshop will only edit OUTSIDE the circle... Help Please.. Rod

Click the mask mode again to get back into mask mode, then switch the brush from black to white..
Now paint...White brush should erase the mask as you paint.

One thing that I have found using the quickmask (so it shows up red) getting your mask, then after you have everything set up, you just invert the selection and it should let you edit inside the mask that you had, instead of editing outside the mask.
