Hi guys,
I'm totally new to Photoshop, but need some answers right now...
I'm trying to change an object in a scanned pic to the same color as its surroundings. For example, a blue-colored box in a pic, and I want to change the color of the box to yellow, which is the color of the surrounding area. How can I do this? Please give step-by-step instructions, if possible.

Not quite sure what you're trying to do, but you might want to try the blending modes. |

Learn how to use the Color Range tool in photoshop. It is under the "select" menu.
A good toutrail is at www.dvgarage.com under techtv tourtails. Regisratioin is free. Scroll down to the color range section. The people at DVGARAGE.com have a movie there as to how to use the color range tool, as well as a .pdf and two .jpg's for you to follow along and try out. |

You can lassel the box, and select the whole box. The try messing around with the color balance in the pic.
Image > Adjustments > Color Balance.

you could use the eye dropper and get the exact color then lasso the box and just fill in |
