hi! I'm totally new to Photoshop.
What I would like to do is learn how to do graphic design for Compact Discs(music) covers/inserts and tray cards(the art, logo etc.).
My question is what is the best version of Photoshop to do this? I have no idea what CS2 is. I need Photoshop to download templates. I would like to know what would be the best book I can buy to learn how to use photoshop and to prform these tasks. Thanks for any help. |

I don't know of any books specifically aimed at CD covers, theres loads for general photoshop use, any of the versions of photoshop from 7.0 onwards should be fine for what you want, CS2 is the current latest version of photoshop (sometimes called 9.0) theres a new version due out next year (word has it) so it might be worth waiting a while if you can.
Theres also Photoshop elements versions I think 5 has just come out? this should also do what you want, elements is a slimmed down version without all the tools of the "full" version, but still very good, and a heck of a lot cheaper. Wayne |

Thanks Wayne, I do appreciate it. I'm going to take your advice and look into the programs you mentioned.
I'm sure I'll be around here from time to time with more questions. Thanks! |
