Hi I'm trying to use the eyedropper tool to find out the exact value for background color. However when I click on the background, a white color just comes up. I see on top of the photoshop application it says Layer Mask. I'm assuming that's what the problem is. How do I turn it off?

On the layers palette you will have a layer with two boxes if theres a layer mask (the layer mask icon) there should also be an eye icon, just click the eye to turn that layer on and off, it just switches it off it doesn't remove it. Wayne
