Hi chaps,
Any idea how I might create the effect seen here on the Godfather poster from a standard colour photo? Have tried simple filters and none hit the spot.
Am in a bit of a panic over this cos needed soon!

There are a lot of ways of doing this...
A super simple that works is to simply go:
Adjustment / Threshold. if its to rough simply blur, if you get to blurry add unsharpen to taste. See attached image.
Then paint the background black (I didn't on the example)
(Another way is with the adjustment / gradient map set to BW and having the two gradinet sliders meet in the middle)

Ya, just one thing when using that technique, make sure to get it dialed in well or it will look horrible. Usually 175 is a good starting place for me. Is something like this what you are looking to achieve?
