I am making a "Certificate of Excellence" award for my GF's students and I want to make a detailed border around the edge to look all fancy and what not.... also I want to make a slight, very detailed pattern in the BG. The kind of thing you find on diplomas or other awards like that. Can anyone suggest a way to do this?
I would like to get away from the standard pattern techniques as they are somewhat obvious. I tried using the Polar Coordinates filter once I had a pattern and that worked out ok..
My main problam is with the border. aside form getting out my protractor and compass, is there a way to make detailed line art like on say a dollar bill?
(I'm not using it for that) _________________ thanks,

You can try using patterns.
Open your document.
Choose file >> New
choose transparent background.
choose a size like 5 x5
in the new image zoom to max.
here use your marque tool and fill a row of pixels
( you can use the single row marque tool )
fill with the color you want your line to be.
choose Edit >> Define Pattern >>
here call it what you want.
go back to your original document.
create a new layer , above your background layer.
choose edit >> Fill >>
In the "Use" area choose Pattern >> Under Custom Pattern find your defined pattern.
Click ok. |
