Hi there,
Can someone help me with auto-extracting text from PSD files (with layers)? This has been a frustrating exercise for me as it is difficult to do this evertime i need to create a database from the text. Please, please, help!!

I had a mental block over this, I'm sure theres an easy way, but I just cant think of it.
The best answer I can think of is duplicate the image, click on the text layer, turn off the other layers then flatten and discard the hidden layers leaving just the text on a white background. Wayne

Thank you for your reply SwanseaMale. However, i was looking at only extracting the text from the PSD file. It would greatly help if i was able to do this.

If you double click the text icon on the layers palette (to highlight the text) then edit copy, you can paste it into notepad on a windows PC don't know about a mac, that will just paste the text part, I cant see how to automate it though, maybe with a custom made script? not sure there. Wayne

Thanks a ton Swanseamale. However, i guess my problem wont be solved unless i do what u mentioned and what i did everytime i needed to extract text. Sad but true Frown
