Hi all, new to the forums here - Looks very cool !!
I have a print related question.... When designing print work i.e Posters etc, can you design the ad in RGB then after convert to CMYK ?? I know that most print work needs to be in CMYK colors. When i convert the colors to CMYK they look really wrong, although they look off in CMYK - when the ad is printed would it look roughly like it does in RGB or does it look like it does in CMYK ??
Am i making sense ?? Please reply....
Thanks !!!! |

RGB and CMYK are too completely different colour spaces so there will always be a difference when converting between the two. Best bet is to get a colour proof from your printers before they do a run, they often charge for this but it's cheaper than having to get the whole thing reprinted when the job comes back wrong! _________________ Barry Flammia

I tend to work in RGB mode to get all the filters, just on the off chance I use them, then convert to CMYK at the end. You are still able to play about with the colour after this change to get a closer colour to what you have in mind, but as said by Baz, RGB and CMYK are 2 different models and will create a different appearance. _________________ www.richardramsay.com |
