I have opened an image in photoshop and when I choose "image size", it says that the image has a resolution of 72 pixels/inch ( it's a five x eight image..)

But in the bottom of image, it says 680.1K/680.1K. What does that mean?

Thanks.

What you're looking at is the Status Bar. There is a fly-out menu (little arrow), which allows you choose which status item will appear in the bar.

The one that is selected now is Document Sizes. The left figure represents the file size of the image flattened (layers and channels merged), and the right figure is the unflattened size (all layers and channels intact).
