I am editing some .jpg's in photoshop and wanting to create a collage of all of them. I open a new document that is bigger in size than the pictures I want to add. When I drag and drop the picture that I have edited into my document, it is magnifying the area from where I grabbed it. Then it fills the whole area of my new document. What is going on here? I know I have done this before and it worked....what am I missing. I hope this question makes sense.

Hey,

Make sure the resolutions of the images/blank document are the same.

If you have a document of, say 300dpi (print) open and you import/drag a digital camera image (72dpi (hi-end 150dpi)) then you will get this problem

Pixelcruncher is dead on. However sometimes when im in a hurry I will use the move tool and hold shift key (to keep same aspect ratio) and shrink my image(s) that way.
