This is probably the stupidist question ever asked; however, I am hopeful that somebody who is familiar with Photoshop can help me in my desparation. I've lost the Toolbox in Photoshop 5.0 and can't find it anywhere. Clicking Show/Hide Tools under the "Window" pull-down menu reveals nothing.

Is there a short-cut key to make it appear?

Try the TAB key to see if that brings it back

For anybody else suffering from the problem, here's the solution I finally received:

_It's possible for the the toolbar (or the palettes, or the image) to get moved off the screen in photoshop. The first time I did that, drove me nuts trying to find the thing. It reappeared when I reset the preferences. Hide and show didn't work because it was lurking outside the visible screen.

In photoshop for mac, version 6, you can set photoshop's preferences to show toolboxs and palettes in their last position or reset them to their default position. Go to the Edit menu> preferences submenu (keyboard shortcut for windows might be control-K). Then, under general preferences uncheck "save palette locations", if that doesn't work choose the 'reset all tools" option. Of course, if you have any customized tools, you'll lose them._
