first duplicate the layer
Then go in to the filter menu/ stlylize /find edges.
Then if the lines are not dark or light enough go into layer/ new adjustment layer / levals or curves then adjust the photo to the correct darkness or lightness that you want. Then click ok. if it dosen't look allright 2 left click on the adjustment layer leval or curves box to brign the settings back.
DO NOT forget to save it as a photoshop .pfd file when you are done. That way you can come back to it when ever you want and all the adjustment layers settings will still be in the exact same place as when you last saved the file. NEAT HEY!

If you are working from a picture (not line art)
you can also try a trick used to make images look like line drawings.
This example was a very small image (off the net) so its overly pixelated but I think you can see the idea.
-Desaturate the original image.
-Duplicate the desaturated image.
-Invert the second image (top) and set mode to COLOR DODGE..(image should go white)
-go to the blur filters and select GAUSSIAN BLUR,
move the slider until you get the look you want.
-Merge the image if you need it darker duplicate set layer mode to multiply. or Run a level moving the level (dark) slider to the right and the left slider (white) to the left OR run FIND EDGE FILTER (might have to fade back since this filter can go grazy sometimes, OR you can also run THRESHOLD to make it more BW line.. Just ideas.
Play with it see if it helps.
