Let me begin by saying thank you in advance, and I appologize if this is not the right place to post this question.
I am not a user of Photoshop and am seeing some issues with my users. I am slowly learning alittle about the software as I try to troubleshoot different issues. The one I am having the most trouble with right now is, my users seem to get severely degraded perfomance after a few days of regular photoshop use. They shut their systems off everynight. They are using Windows, Dell precision 670's with 1BG of RAM. The files they work with are typically 100-300 MB. Should I increase their RAM? What is typically required to work with photoshop and files of this size?? I have run a memory monitor on a couple of the systems and found several times the available RAM dropped to 5 or 6 MB while opening a file and took a very long time to return to at least 100MB. Not until the whole application was closed did the memory get reallocated. I have spoke to Adobe several times and have yet to get a suitable answer.
Does anyone have any suggestions? |

300mg is one big file!
Anyway... how much of the memory has been allocated to PS? (under ps properties) PS will take it all if allowed then leave your system and itself in the pooper.
