Hi:
Can you tell me some ways to attain the background effect seen here:

The grey diagonal lines used as a background image. I would like the lines to be a bit finer, but I think this example will get me in the right direction.
I know Photoshop has textures you can apply to background images/objects, but none are lines like this...I mostly see something like rock patterns or texture fills.
Any help is greatly appreciated. |

There are plugins that will do it but...you can also make them yourself.
Open a new page 3 x 3 pixels 72 resolution (for web)
zoom in as much as possible.
grab 1px 100% hardness pencil tool and click the 3x3 in the bottom left corner hold the SHIFT key down and click the top right corner. It will make a 3 pixel line.
Go to EDIT / Define Pattern, name it then ok.
Now you can add the pattern as a perfect 45 degree angle tile.
To fill and area with the pattern simply click the paint bucket tool.
Fill: pattern then go to the bottom of the patterns you will find your newly made pattern.
That makes about as small a line as it can make, anything smaller will be a checkerboard.... For thicker lines do the same but using a large canvas and larger pencil etc..
