what is the absolute best way to adjust levels in CS2 9.0?

By using the adjustment level...I don't think there is a absolute best way it depends on the needs of the picture and what you are trying to achieve.
Depending on what you are doing the gray eyedropper sets a neutral point so its a good place to start is restoring an image. But if you simply need to lighten and image you can move the white slider... no hard and set rules.

is there another way to adjust the levels besides that?
someone told me that there was another way i just wondered if anyone knew what it was... thanks for your help.  |

Personally speaking I prefer using the add adjustment layer, then choosing levels.
(3rd circle icon from right on your layers palatte)
I find the auto feature to be in accurate when it comes to my personal tastes.
By making it a layer you allow for more control over that layer, ie. its opacity, blending options and so on.
Unless of course you are editing RAW or NEF files, then you are left using it as a permanent filter. via the menu at the top of PS.This is with PS7.
Adobe and it's CS & CS2 have made a great deal of changes geared towards the digital photographer, so I can't speak for later versions. |
