I am frustrated w/ not being able to get the print image I expect after hours of work. Any suggestions would be welcome!
Here is the needed information:
Equipment: Windows XP system; Dell E773c monitor; Photoshop CS2; Canon i950; Nikon D70
Steps taken so far:
1) Set Nikon D70 to Adobe RGB color space
2) Calibrated monitor using Spyder2 Pro
3) Downloaded printer profiles that match paper being used
4) Followed instructions for Print w/ Preview: Adobe RGB applied; Photoshop determine colors; select printer profile; rendering intent- perceptual; Set i950 as directed here- http://www.steves-digicams.com/techcorner/June_2005.htmland in Photoshop CS2 book by Kelby.
So I think I did everything right. The printed picture is off in several tones and comes off darker feeling all together.
What can I do differently to make the output match the monitor???

Not sure this will even help but I would also run the Adobe Gamma program (should be in your control panel) and then calibrate with the Spyder again.
Also, if you are using the XP drivers for your monitor, try the Dell drivers.

I had tried the Adobe Gamma prorgram before I got Spyder and couldn't get it to work. It wouldn't recognize the Dell E773 profile. I tried getting help with that from Dell to no avail. I have had problems every step of the way with this. |
