Hi all! 
I had a question and i need the answer quick. Well i have a white rectangle with one side (the bottom side) being curved. I made this image on Macromedia Flash MX, and exported the image to JPEG. I opened it with photoshop and saw that it was just a big rectangle. I found out why... the background on the Flash file appeared with it. So when i try to take the extra white (the background from the Flash file) out-- so I can see the curve only and not that AND the extra white-- I try to marquee the extra white and delete it, using a couple of different tools. One time I used the magnetic lasso tool, and another time I used the magic wand tool. BUT WHEN I DO THAT, THE CURVE GETS JAGGED EDGES AND IT LOOKS BAD. And trust me, it had good qulity before. So apparently, the marquee makes the curve get jagged edges.
Is there any way I can fix this problem?

You might want to use the pen tool for what you are doing...smoother selections. Anyway once you have made the selection go to SELECT / Feather / enter .3 (just a starting point)..
It should smooth it out.

wow thanks! it does smoothen it out! one question... can too much feathering make it look bad? |
