|
|
I am trying to convert a full color photograph into an image with just a few colors.
The purpose is to allow the photo to be embroided with color stitching. I envisage the final result will be a diagramatic representation of the photo.
Is anyone familiar with the photoshop tools I can use to play around with and automatically convert the photo to just a few colors?
Any help appreciated. |

Have you tried a 4 color gradient map?
or maybe a Quadtone?
or save for web as a 4 color gif file?
Good luck,

what lasa said is all great advice. one more thing though:
So say you were gonna do 200 stitches by 200 stitches. i would convert the image to 20 by 200 pixels using image size. Then i would scale it up to a good size for printing using "nearest enighbor" mode, which will kep the pixely effect so it will be easy to tell what colour to stitch. _________________ brush your hair and comb your teeth |
