How do you unselect the free transform function? I know its control+T to enable it, but can never dissable it when I am happy with the transform.

Click the "move tool" (the arrow button), if that doesnt take it off automatically click outside of the transform box and you should get the marching ants, then click control+d

Try clicking anyother tool...brush works for me.

Strange..ESC doesn't work for me.

The Enter key works for me with deselecting the free transform tool. :-) :-)

The ESC and the return keys both work for me in this situation, and I'm on a PC Lasa.

Try remapping it in your shortcuts.
