Hi There

I'm not new to photoshop but I think maybe this is a beginner's question and something I feel I should know by now - but I guess you're always learning. I've had a surf on the net but I'm looking for a simpler explanation...

I've done a photo merge and am working on it at a size of 12cm (h) x 57cm because my poor old mac is able to save changes faster at this size. The real size I want to print it at is much, much bigger - a banner. When i choose print size, it looks pretty good (about 30%), but if I zoom it to 100% its really jagged. Which do I believe in terms of print quality? Will it print how it looks at 100%?

Thanks Anyone Blush

This is a tricky one to answer as theres a few factors going on, first off go to image size and look at the resolution, for printing you want from around 220 upwards (300 is most common) if it's 72 (as I suspect) thats only really for web use and will probably print out a bit pixelated.

It's probably also worth going to view actual pixles this should show the actual size of it, and give you a better idea of how it looks.

The secret with big images is to (sadly) work on as big a original as you can, it's far far better to downsize later, rather than trying to enlarge a small image up.
I have the same problem with photomerge, when working with a half a dozen or so 8mp images it gest really slow. Wayne
