I want to paint white on a blue background. I have only the background and one other layer that's a selection. I have chosen a brush and white is the color in the top square.... nothing happens. Yikes, I think I could do this once. |

If you have a selection going you will only be able to paint within the selection. If you want to remove the selection, Hit ctrl+D to close all selections.
