I'm new here so bare with me.
Hoping someone can give me a few tips on how do something. On the photo below, I want to change the color of a few things. The most important is I want the front and rear fenders to be black instead of red.
I have done something similar al long time ago using the magic wand tool. When I tried today, I selected the areas and clicked the pallet, chose black, but nothing happened.
If that goes well I also want the # plate on the side to be black with white numbers. and the front to be black w/white numbers. although the front plate isn't that visible and may be difficult.
Any of the gurus on here able to give some steps?

After selecting the fenders you need to fill the area, I'd add a new layer first, then fill with black, one of the problems is that the detal might not show, so you might have to artisticly "add" a few highlights.
Another way is after selecting say the front fender convert that to B+White and then darken it right down, this might look more real as you'll keep some detail. Wayne |

what I did was use the color option, which of course made them grayish, but I took the selction on the motorycycle and using birghtness/conrats managed to darken them the a pretty black color, so I think if someone did that and spent some more time with it they could get some decent results. |

Thanks Haunus
That looks like a good job to me. Not sure if I like the color scheme though. I wanted to get an idea if I should put black plastics on it but not sure if I like it. But you did great. The phot hosting account I used originally resized the pic so I uploaded a new one after you saw it.
I'll mess around with it a bit myself later tonight just to get some practice.
swanseamale47. I'll try your idea also. Not a photoshop expert or anything so I may be back to ask some questions.
I know it's a total personal preference but does anyone think switching to black front/black plastics looks good? Just curious. |

I'd personally make the whole thing black, for some reason the balck/red at least on what I did, doesnt seem to work, perhaps in different combo? |

That was my original thought to go with all black. BUt the shrouds (side/radiator covers) are a little more expensive and I would have to get new graphics. On top of that a new seat or seat cover. It gets expensive pretty fast. And the bike is new. Only had it a little over a month.
Sorry, didn't mean to ramble on and get off topic. Thanks again for your help. |
