|
|
Hi Everyone,
As a long time Photoshop user I regularly use batch automation in my normal daily routine but there is something I would like some help on...
Currently I have a folder that is filled with hi-res retouched images and I have a batch set up to save each file first as a large (web optimized) version in one folder and then as a smaller thumbnail version in another folder.
This is how I usually save the images but when I submit them they all need to be inside a single folder with specific extensions explaining the size of the file (ie the original file named "file123" would be saves as two versions called "file123_large" and "file123_thumb") in the same folder...
Is there a way I can add these extensions onto the file when it's being optimized for the web? I've always renamed these manually and it's just so repetitive and seems like a waste of time.
If someone can help me with this it would save me a tremendous amount of time!
Thanks in advance! |

If you have XP you can batch rename in that, highlight all the images in the folder, click on the first one and rename, the rest should all be renamed in order 1..2..3 etc. I use it from time to time if I have to rename a lot of images. Wayne |

That's a great tip! I'm not sure if it's the solution I was looking for since the actual name of each file is very important for keeping track of the products. The ideal situation would be to keep the file name in tact and add the trailing extensions without disrupting the file name.
Any more ideas? |

go to www.snapfiles.com under the freeware section and download one of the file management programs. after you do the normal batch, i think u can just open the program and add the extensions on the end. _________________ www.kg-studios.com |

There may well be a way to batch them, I don't use the batch action much, I don't get much call for large batches here, it always tends to be smaller numbers of images, which I tend to do by hand, or use Eazy Thumbnail from Fookes software (a freeware program) to make the thumbnails, although it will do other sizes as well.
