You know how you can create a streight line with the line tool, well is there a way to start to bend it as you wish. For example to get a symetrical ) type curve.
Thanks. |

The only way I know is with the pen tool, and paths.. _________________ and the wisdom to know the difference... |

Yes
Draw a line with shape tool, goto your convert point tool and click the 4 anchor points. start bending as you like, by playing with those handles.
If symetry is what you want, work on half of the design, when completed, duplicate it [Path selection tool(A) + Alt], edit->transform path->flip, position as you like.
Good luck |

Ok, I see what you both mean but when I pull out one of the handles I am getting a semi-circle type shape rather than a bent line.
I think this is because the line is more like a long thin rectangle (it has a width). I tried changing the width, length and concavity but I cant seem to get a normal line. What % do I have to set it at to get a normal line? I hope I have explained my self correctly, hope someone can help. Thanks |

What I do is set the pen tool for paths..click on one end to start your line..Click where you want it to end..It draws a straight path..
With the 2 anchor points showing, click in the middle, and it will add another anchor point..Holding Ctrl, move the path with the arrows..It should make a beautiful s curve..Make sure you're holding Ctrl when you move them..
then I right click on the path in the paths palette, and chose stroke path..I stroke with a brush..
Be sure to choose your size brush and color you want it, before stroking..Be sure your layer palette is on the layer you want to stroke on too. _________________ and the wisdom to know the difference... |
