I have been asked to make a shade(awning) in this pic, this is what I have done so far. How can I make it look more real? More like an actual fabric. It just doesnt look right.
Thanks alot.
PS: 200KB attachment seems a bit small for an image forum. So quality sucks

When you have the shape selected try adding a bit of texture, and perhaps a very light gradient to add a bit of shading to it. Wayne

Also, once you've got it made, duplicate the original image layer, then select the added awning, and go to your new duplicated layer. Inverse the selection and delete, then iverse back and gaussian blur a lot, and turn the opacity waaay down.
