If I have a 2D image at a certain angle how can I manipulate the image, for example rotate it on a 'virtual axis', strech one corner out, resize, etc..

What I nead to do it show how an awning (shade) will look before constructed and the shade it will provide.

So I will have different samples of awning material to work from but I will need to make it fit different areas. Sometimes it will be horiontal and sometimes at angles. The awnings are generally triangular like this.

Is this possible with photoshop or do I need some CAD software? If so which one?

I would aslo like it to automatically generate shadows when the sun is at different possitions in the sky.

I hope someone can help me out, thanks alot.

You can alter the shape etc with the free transform tool first use the lasso tool to draw around the shape then copy and paste onto a new blank sky background, then use the free transform (under the edit menu) to distort warp the shape, you may need cad for things like rotation in a 3d view but you can do a fair bit with PS. I have been messing around with the free transform tool. But you know how the picture was taken from underneath the awning looking up at it, I cant seem to change it so that it looks like you are looking down on it (or from the left, etc). Do I just have to keep experimenting with it? so far no look.

Thanks alot for your help so far.
