Hi all.

I am following a tutorial how to mask. However it is saying to make a selection?
So how do you make a selection???

You can use the marquee tools, the lasso tools, the magic wand, and quite a few others, it would depend what your trying to select, for a person, I'd probably use the lasso, for a simple squarish sort of shape the rectangle marquee, a selection is when you have the "marching ants" sort of moving dots around an area.
You can soften the edge (so the join wont show so much) with select/feather and type in an amount, I cant really give you a guide as it varys with image size and how soft you want the edge, if you want to swop to the area left out of your selection (reverse it) it's select/inverse. Wayne

REALLY advanced Photoshop users will generly use the pen tool or alpha channels to make their selctions because you can save the paths (or the pen tool) and alpha channels to disk and call them up later and then manlipute the paths and/or the alpha channels if need be.
