I scanned some old photos and would like to print them at one of those on-line print processors (like Wal Mart). The problem I'm having is that I can't seem to grasp the pixel size required to fit a 4x6 print. I was using 1024x768 for the photo sizes, then I realized that after I uploaded a couple of photos, they were all being cropped and I was missing part of my pictures. I've added frames/borders to a lot of my prints, so I really can't afford to have the images cropped at all. Can someone give me a primer on what I'll need to do in order to get my scanned photos with edits to fit perfectly on a 4x6 print? Thanks.

The pixel dimension has to be a 2:3 ratio, or else it will not fit a 4” X 6” print. (square peg, round hole thing). One way: Find out the dimension that is short, then just add to the canvas area to get a 2:3 ratio. You’ll have to trim the extra when printed. Or, if you don't mind distortion, you can "stretch" one dimension to fit.
