I found a picture that I would really like to use as my wallpaper, but the problem is that its resolution is 1024 x 768. My desktop's resolution is set at 1680 x 1050 and when I try to have set it as my wallpaper in stretch mode, it's a little bit blurry. Does anyone know how I can enlarge it in photoshop and keep it looking sharp?

Here is the wallpaper I want to use: http://www.wincustomize.com/Preview.aspx?Source=Guiam/wallpapers/26869.jpg

to change the resolution in PS go to Image>Image size. and make sure "constrain porportions" is checked. then just change the size. Or you can create a 1680x1050 document and paste the pic into that, and just resize it via the free transform (ctrl+t)

the only problem is that its still going to be pixelated/blurry)

try creating the document size of 1680x1050, make sure the image is centered, and add to the gray-like background. Just use the clone stamp and healing brush to blend it. this will keep the image sharp, and make it the size you want.

One thing you could try is enlarging it in steps, some people claim it gives better results than doing it all at once, the popular one is about 10% steps at a time (personally I can't see any difference myself) Wayne
