Hello all.

I have been on a several day quest without any success.
I have tried tutorials, references...etc...

I bought a website template that includes the html, graphics and the psd file.
Now, I have pretty much figured out how to do everything but not how to change the text within the sliced section of the horizontal navigation bar.
every time I change the text, and I assume because the text I am replacing is not the same number of letters, the results come out as cutoff images or shrinked text in the navigation bar. I also assume this is because they are horizontal. I changed the verticals text fine since there is no slice adjacent to it.

could anyone be so kind as to tell me how I can edit the text within a horizontal navigation bar?
sort of like:
link1 | link2| link3| link4

all I want to do is replace the link# with about us, contact us etc...
I am using the same fonts etc.... in photoshop, but just can not get it done.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Thank you.

hi.

I am trying to simply change text in a slice.
now, if I change the text and it is as big as the clice, all is fine.
if I need to have text larger than the slice, it cuts off the text, but it looks ok.
If I expand the slice, then the text looks unreadable.

I am saving as gif and html.

here are some pics:

here is the part as it is originally in the template:

now, I changed the text in 2 links:

and this is the output in the browser after saving the 2 sliced images only.

now here, I actually make the slices bigger to fit the text:

and the final disaterous result:

ANY help will be very much appreciated!

I believe that you might be making the changes and just saving the images instead of the whole thing and then replacing the link in the html with the new name leaving the the old image size unchanged.

In other words when you make the slice bigger it makes the image bigger and your just leaving the size in your html the same as the old image.

So what I would do is get everything looking the way you want in IR and then 'save optimize as' and it should work out just right.
