Ummm...I'm just kinda guessing (or going with what I would try)....I'd try making a filter a seperate layer, then overlaying it over the other layers (style>overlay I think). Of course, this can't be done with all types of filters. You could also try doing the filter in PS then sending it back to IR and see if that works. Again, this won't work with all filters, and might not work at all. Sorry in advance if it doesn't help, or isn't what you're looking for, but it's what I'd try.
