Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum. I need to learn how to make text be anchored straight on the top, but have the bottom of the letters curve downward as in the photo of this shirt I found:

Can anyone give me a quick pointer?

Thanks!

The text warp features in PS should get you close to the effect you need. You may need to alter the efffect manually to achieve what you are after.

In truth Illustrator would be easier, but the above should give you a start.

The warp text doesn't seem to work. I've tried every combination possible and nothing seems to work. It is frustrating because I see so many signs/logos etc with this exact format, and I figured that photoshop would have a surefire way of doing it. I have no idea how to manually adjust it and make it look symetric either.

Thanks anyways thehermit!

To do it manually in Photoshop (easier in Illy but hey I'm a glutton for punishment too Big Grin ):

Create whatever text you need.

Right click the text on the canvas (with text tool selected still) and choose Create Work Path.

This is where your skill and knowledge of the pen tools come into play. I can't really coach you too much on the steps but typically it involves using the point convert tool (hold mouse over pen tool icon) and a combination of direct select and path select. You may also need to add more nodes (anchors) or take some away to refine the design.

Sorry for being a little wooly at the end - I could be more thorough if you need more help on the pen tool and its associated tools, but I didn't want to teach my granny to suck eggs ;)
