Hello!
Up to now I was using Fireworks and decided to move on to Photoshop.
Well, I started reading a book (an Adobe one) but, unfortunately, even from the very first chapter, I face great difficulties following the instructions and I find it very hard to get used with the entire workspace.
Apart from being confused, I m getting despaired...
Is photoshop's environment so different than the one I have been used to so far, or just I m so dump and must quit the try? |

I started with Photoshop, but found using Fireworks fairly easy, the layouts are similar-ish. Photoshop does look daunting at first, but most things are fairly easy to find with a little practice. I don't know what book you bought, but some are easier than others, I looked at one a little while ago, and was baffled by the way it explained things, where another was easy to understand.
One book I found usefull as a beginner was 50 fast photoshop tips, by Gregory Georges (I don't know if it's still available) it's written for beginners, but advanced enough to be usefull as a reference book later.
Don't give up, have a practice, and if you have any questions just ask away, theres plenty of helpfull people here. Wayne |

I just started with photoshop last year. I'm not doing too badly. I bought the book, Adobe Photoshop, Classroom in a Book. It is outstanding and teaches you all of the basics in a great way. I highly recommend getting it and going through the lessons.
This forum has absolutely been outstanding for helping me with any other problems that might arise. These people are standing by ready to help and they are great!!!!! |

Yeah I find the whole thing a complete nightmare - I just think my brain doesn't work in that way lol.
Drawing etc just is not my strong point! |
