|
|
I don't know why my crop tool is acting up and I can't seem to fix it. All of a sudden if I am trying to rotate and crop an image, it distorts it. It is only doing this when I crop to wallet size (2.5x3.5) or 4x6. Cropping to a 5x7 is fine. Before, I could crop and rotate my wallets no problem. I have reset tools, made sure the snap to documents bounds isn't checked. It's just strange. Like it is keeping the image straight and not rotating it. What else can I check here?? Like I said, it was working fine. Any ideas????
Here is a sample of am image I rotated and cropped. Very distorted!

It’s a bug in Photoshop that Adobe HAS YET TO FIX in PS 9.0!!
(a real pet peeve of mine..)
If you Rotate+Crop+Downsize an image, you get this distortion. The workaround is to break up the steps, i.e. Rotate+Crop then resize, or Rotate, then crop+resize.
and welcome to the Forums.

Thanks for the welcome and the reply! It's just strange that it has always worked fine and now it won't. What a pain!

The only time you see see the distortion is when you downsample (have a lower ppi input in the Crop Option). Some angles of crop rotation create a worse distortion than others.
